About Me
I'm a travel copywriter and editor based in Shanghai, with 20+ years of exploring the world and six years writing for travel and food brands.
My background spans tourism, food-travel editorial, and destination content. I led educational tours and built school partnerships for Bow Tie Tours in Philadelphia. I wrote and edited booking pages, newsletters, and travel articles for Cookly, one of the world's largest cooking-class marketplaces. And I currently contribute travel and geography features to WorldAtlas.
Before copywriting, I spent a decade as an international credentials evaluator — a role that taught me to analyze complex documents, work across cultures, and communicate with precision. When I made the leap to full-time writing, I chose to focus on what I know best: travel.
And I don't write about destinations from a desk in Texas. I've lived in Thailand, Germany, and China for the last nine years. That firsthand knowledge is what makes the difference between generic destination copy and copy that actually converts.
Tourism Experience
Before I wrote about travel, I worked in it. At Bow Tie Tours in Philadelphia, I led historical and civic educational tours and managed outreach partnerships with area schools. That experience taught me how to engage diverse groups of learners. This skill translates directly into writing for diverse travel audiences.
Where I've Been
I've traveled through dozens of countries across six continents. See the full map and my favorite writing moments from the road on My Travels.
