2026 (so far)

At the beginning of 2026, we decided we wanted to really know what cold weather was. So we about killed ourselves heading to Harbin, near the Russian border, with a not-yet-two-year-old. Genius idea.

In February, we decided we needed more rain (apparently), so we met my parents in the UK. We spent most of the week in Oxford but explored the Cotswolds, Shakespeare's hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon, and London. 

The spring brought us to the nearby Moganshan mountains with some friends from Shanghai. Easy speed train there and back. Another high-speed train brought us to Wuxi for a quick weekend trip.

In June, we made the long flight back to Texas to visit family. Six weeks mostly spent in Brenham and Galveston, catching up with family and friends and eating all the good food. At the beginning of July, we flew down to Jamaica with my parents, my sister and brother-in-law, and their son. Multi-generational family spending a few days at the pools and beaches of a large resort. Not the most culturally stimulating trip, but fun nonetheless.

We're still in this year but don't worry, we have a few more trips planned throughout the year.
